The forgotten BodyCombat clothing line
- Les Mills did have a very cool clothing range, can you tell what it is?

Gone and forgotten?
- On the masterclass and us instructors got participants to run in a circle after track 8 high fiving as we went round. This unfortunately “officially” stopped after BodyCombat 62.
- The “Matrix kick” has only seen the light once in BodyCombat 56
- The “lightening kick” has only seen the light once in BodyCombat 57
- The “Advancing side kick” has only seen the light once in BodyCombat 50?
All that work
- If you still wear gloves in class or your trainers have a smell to them did you know you can buy cool fresheners?
- Going by Les Mills fitness research people can burn up to 740 calories during a 55 minute workout… Time to buy a fitbit and smash that? What you put in you get out : BodyCombat 54 Calories burned in an hours class.
- Did you know you can help not only Dan and Rach but all program directors by suggesting a song you want to work out to : https://www.lesmills.com/suggest-a-song/

It may also have been in 1b in BC51. Id have to check choreo notes though to be sure.
Amy
BodyCombat 63 was the 1st release to see conditioning in the main body of the work out (bear crawl in track 4) BodyCombat 71 was the first we saw track 1c
BodyCombat 68 was the last time we saw gloves. Gloves evolved from wraps in the 40’s
Stephen Coates
Advancing side Kick in 1B 56, mixing it in now lol, and I high five everyone as they go out the door and often “air” high five people in the class after a hard track…
Bobby
Advancing sidekick is in 1B of R72 and R56. Also R63 T4 with the Bruce Lee slide.
More gone and forgotten:
“Sweep” from R42 T4 Use Me, introduced as new move but never again.
“Dropping Elbow” from R44 T7 Metal Kombat For The Mortal Man. Hernan said “bringing old weapon back into Bodycombat”
“The Claw” from R36 T4 Zombie..
Absent for 15 releases since R57, “Speedball” and “Evasive Jump Side Kick” are probably also gone.

Nick, Amy, Stephen thank you for commenting ? Are you all instructors, participants, bit of both?
Nick, my notes are up the loft I can’t recall :S. Amy, didn’t think about the gloves, wraps to nothing, nice :). Stephen good to hear i’m not the only one still doing what i feel is a tradition for all the hard work of a class.
Ah Bobby you’re robbing me of a part 2 :P.
I’ve not looked at the sizzler for 72 and there were no spaces on workshops to do it so am not sure what’s in the next release (spoiler alert) :P.
I do remember 44 as that’s the release I done my training on. https://www.siphilp.com/my-journey-from-body-combat-participant-to-instructor.aspx . I’ve actually had sweetheart on for the speedballs of late, one of my fav tracks of all time.

Did you know:
– The first and only time we were doing “groundwork” outside tracks 9 and 10 before release 63 was in release 24 track 5 (She Bangs – by Ricky Martin), where we did mountain climbers!
– Releases 19 and 30 are the only releases to have conditioning tracks where we stand up and do stuff (e.g. Lunges, Knees, and Sword Katas)
– The Muay Thai themed track 7 wasn’t introduced before release 14. Before then, tracks 1 and 2 were the upper and lower body warmups, respectively.
– From releases 14 until 24 (both inclusive), the upper and lower body warmup were not 2 different songs, but just one! That also means that release 25 was the first release to have 2 songs in a single track (actually this release had both 2 different songs in the warmup AND in the cooldown).
– As of release 16, sound effects were no longer used in the original releases. There are some versions of tracks after release 15 that actually HAVE sound effects. I think those are used by the Latin American “Body Systems.”
– The song “Get Ready For This” (by 2 Unlimited) has been used 4 times: R3 T3, R10 T3, R53 T1b, and R63 T1a.
– Release 70 track 5 “Not Giving In” is the second track to have 2 versions of the same song in one track. The first being “Kalinka”, release 46 track 4.
– One more move that hasn’t been reused is the Blitz from release 54.
– The “Shield” move is also been forgotten, last seen in release 27 track 4.
– Release 27 has another forgotten move, only seen in this release, in track 2: The Hammer Fist!
– The Claw was last seen in release 36, but it was actually also present in release 22 track 2, “Kickstart My Heart.”
– From releases 1 until 20 (inclusive), Dan and Rach were not the main performers of the master class. Instead, Gabby and Nathaniel Leivas were.
– If you do BodyCombat, you might get sweaty.
Sam
Hey hey
Another quick correction, you mention lightning kick from 57, I’m thinking perhaps you meant the thunder kick instead? (Downward heal strike)
