Let’s face it: We’ve all been there. You’re in a Bodycombat class, sweat dripping, lungs on fire, and you see that person on stage. You know, the one who looks like they just stepped out of a sports catalogue, shouting “One more rep!” with a smile that says, “I’m having a blast,” while you’re thinking, “I’m having a heart attack.”
And then it hits you: Can I be an instructor? Yes, yes and yes….
If you’ve ever had the itch to swap your studio floor spot for the instructor’s stage, you’re in the right place. Becoming an instructor isn’t just about learning the moves; it’s about leading a tribe and changing lives.
The Journey to Becoming a Les Mills Instructor
Becoming a Les Mills instructor is a marathon not a sprint. It’s not just a weekend course and a high-five. It’s a process that starts with that little voice in your head saying, “I want to be up there,” and well it never really ends as you grow over time, every day is a school day, but the recognition of “You’re certified” helps as foundations to your growth.
In my latest video, So you want to be a Les Mills Instructor?, I introduce a new series where I’ll be taking you through the entire process—from the initial “thinking about it” phase to the day you get that official certification. The framework behind the certification has certainly changed from my journey of participant to a bodycombat instructor.
