Welcome along to the first of many posts that take us back in time to memorable tracks that you may or may not know. Being an participant before becoming an instructor there are many tracks that I personally loved and on occasion throw into mixes. Anyway, I thought I would share some of these tracks as you never know it might fill a gap in a mix somewhere :).
The track
The first post takes us back to Les Mills BodyCombat 50 track 3 : What’s Up? (Dougal & Gammer Hardcore Mix) – DJ Destiny

Why this track?
I chose this track for several reasons:
- The music makes you want to work with the simple but effective boxing combinations.
- Lots of areas and chances to increase levels maximising the track output for both instructors and participants.
- The way Judy King teaches this track on the masterclass is just perfection.
- Presence on stage.
- Motivational cues.
- Level changes.
- Use of music to empower the workout.
- Delivering the choreography.
- It appears on my mix atleast once every quarter.
What do you think?
Have you taught/done this track or watched the masterclass and thought differently? Please let me know your thoughts or If you have any tracks you’d like to share please comment, tweet me, or get in touch. Thanks for reading Simon Philp.
