Site Update and subtext

subtext logoSubtext 2.1 was officially released about 10 days ago. At the beginning of the week I tried to upgrade from 1.9.5 to 2.1 and I ran into a series of problems so reverted back. Tomorrow I am going to update my site to the latest version so I can use all the new features. Links regarding the release:

Also the Illacrimo skin is ready.  He’s constantly playing around with it but I will be putting it all together and uploading it to subtextskins.com. While creating the skin I came across more limitations of subtext which I will be outlining to the dev list. This will hopefully make it possible to create more complex skins should future versions fix these issues.

Update: I am now running on subtext 2.1. Seemed problem existed in web.config. Hopefully in the next couple of days I’ll get my new skin finished 🙂

    Si,
What advantages do you see with subtext over other blogging platforms? I’m still a big fan of WordPress and Drupal. (Is there a way to subscribe to comments?)

    Hi Pete,
Well subtext is based on Microsofts .net platform whereby wordpress and drupal are on php. Being a microsoft man is easier for me to "change" subtext for my needs.
Currently no way to subscribe to comments but I have put it in as a feature request.
I have been looking at another .net blogging engine called BlogEngine.NET. This has a plugin feature, along with many more. Subtext I feel is a little dated. No disrespect to the developers as they all have busy lives. Am sure after the new year we can see good things from the subtext dev team 🙂
