Failure with a hint of success

During the week I thought it would be a good idea to stop at Granton Harbour to take some photographs.  I pass the place every day I go into work but I’ve never been there before. Off I went taking some photographs looking out to the moored boats in the harbour.  After taking about 20 I decided it was time to call it a day. On the way back to the car I noticed a group of colourful shells that I just had to capture. I’d like to iterate here that all I did was setup the camera and an angle, the scene was entirely natural :).

Importing the photographs into Adobe Lightroom I started working my way through to see if what I had in my head was reality and I am saddened to say it wasn’t.  I deleted every single photograph apart from the 2 of the shells:

I’m glad that my time and effort wasn’t a complete right off and I can safely say some lessons were learned.  Here are the 2 photographs of the shells that saved the day…
